SUMMER IS THE PERFECT TIME to take a road trip. Days are saturated with sunlight and the freedom of the open road beckons ... but since we’re busy tuning up the truck, tending our vineyards and getting the winery in shape for harvest we asked six young artists to take a 30–day trip across America and chronicle their journey so we could follow along.

Starting Monday, July 2nd, 2007, Mike, Mikey and Brad will travel together from San Francisco to Boston and Michelle, Dan and Bill will travel from Boston to San Francisco. Each team is planning its own route and each is producing artwork depicting their coast to coast adventure — including photos, film, essays, videos, and more. Their work is posted here along with a map that shows their journey. You can also visit their blogs (see links above) where their adventure will be continually recorded.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride as we experience America from a new perspective with these artists.
